Updated:

We're putting together a team to help us run the Youth Music Awards, taking place on Wednesday 16 October 2024 at Troxy, London.

We're currently recruiting for Event Runners, Photographers, and a PR Assistant for the 2024 awards.

The deadline for all applications is Sunday 4 August 2024, 11:59pm.

About the awards

The Youth Music Awards represent the future of music. They celebrate the most forward-thinking projects and people making, learning and earning in music.

The awards are a great opportunity to gain experience working on a large scale music industry event. You'll also get to see some great emerging artists and be in the room with music professionals working across the industry, some of whom help judge the awards.

Youth Music aims to support young people in the early stages of developing creative careers, therefore we would particularly like to encourage applications from 18 to 25 year olds. You don't need to have taken part in a Youth Music funded project to apply.

PR Assistant

We’re looking for a friendly, organised, enthusiastic and versatile individual who can remain calm under pressure, deal with multiple tasks and think on their feet.

In the run up to the event, you’ll work closely with our PR agency, gaining hands-on experience in bringing a communications campaign to life. As part of this, you’ll spend time shadowing the account team through the planning stages and be allocated specific tasks to lead on yourself.

At the awards, you’ll help the agency and our Communications team run the live press office. Your responsibilities could include:

  • Finding and taking the winners and other key guests for photography/filming
  • Hosting journalists and ensuring they have what they need
  • Capturing quotes from attendees as required

Event Runners

Working closely with our Engagement Team, you’ll help to make sure the event runs smoothly, from setting up the venue and working backstage to taking care of guests.

We’re looking for a highly organised, enthusiastic and versatile individual who can remain calm under pressure, deal with multiple tasks and think on their feet. We’re looking for someone with a friendly personality who can welcome our guests and represent Youth Music.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support with physical set up at Troxy on the day – including table setting (numbers, place cards, brochures).
  • Be at hand throughout the evening to work with the team and assist guests.
  • Work on the guest list and support on the flow of traffic, particularly when guests start to arrive.
  • Checking on backstage areas and dressing rooms to make sure performers and special guests are looked after.

Photographers

We are looking for three event photographers to bring the Youth Music Awards 2024 to life through engaging photography.

Working closely with our Communications Team and agency partners, you’ll be our eyes and ears on the ground, from on stage, red carpet and amongst the audience. As well as delivering on a pre-agreed shot list, you’ll be constantly on the lookout for unexpected moments, then co-ordinating with team members and guests to bring them to life.

Successful applicants will receive a full brief, but responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with experienced press photographers
  • Collaborating with other photographers to deliver full shot list
  • Editing and uploading files on location as required
  • On site photo shortlisting with Youth Music Communications Team
  • Editing and provision of selected photos by the day after the awards
