An arts and education organisation that provides education, outreach and training to children and young people (up to the age of 25) at risk, whom are often socially excluded, in challenging circumstances and experiencing disadvantages.Pedestrian have been supporting emerging local musicians for many years, through regular music sessions and programmes, they have developed and provided opportunities for young people at the start of their musical journey.“I came here after being kicked out of school with no dreams or plans for the future. Music and arts education are often the first to be cut, leaving many young people without access to essential creative outlets. The numbers are alarming: enrolment in GCSE Music has dropped 19% since 2010 and fewer students in state schools are singing in choirs or playing in orchestras compared to their privately educated peers.
