Salary: £28,133 per annum, (full time, 40 hours per week)
This is a full-time role but we’d consider a job share or part-time appointments for the right candidates.
Contract length: 12 months from 1 June 2025

Job Description:
This is a key role within the Music for Everyone team comprising of the following three areas of responsibility:

Youth Music Programme Co-ordinator:
Oversee administrative tasks relating to all MfE Youth music projects, events and groups including co-ordinating all aspects of musical activities in collaboration with MfE’ s Artistic and Assistant Artistic Director.

The main responsibilities of the post include but are not limited to:

• Attending Youth events and groups to oversee the smooth running of activities (‘Time off in Lieu’ is offered in exchange for evening and weekend working)
• Facilitating planning meetings with the artistic team to arrange dates and outline for the year
• Preparing a budget for the annual Youth programme in collaboration with the General Manager
• Ensuring venues are booked and liaising with venues to outline the facilities required
• Implementing deadlines to ensure the effective running of the planned Youth activities,
including:
− Commissioning Youth course and concert publicity & overseeing its distribution
− Ordering Youth music from the library/purchasing of music, sorting music copying &
overseeing the putting together of music packs for Youth groups and events
− Putting together Youth master enrolment packs (ensuring music packs, rehearsal CDs, mp3s are prepared)
− Keeping track of enrolments for Youth courses and memberships for Youth groups
− Drafting the timetables / rehearsal schedules for Youth events and groups in co-ordination
with the artistic team
− Ensuring freelance musicians are engaged for Youth rehearsals/concerts when
necessary and drafting artist contracts for all freelance staff
− Ensuring Youth artistic team are sent materials regarding courses/rehearsals well in
advance
− Gather content required for Youth concert programme, organising its design and printing
− Seeking adverts when needed for Youth concert programmes
• Arranging payment of invoices/fees with General Manager (either on day of the event or ASAP
afterwards)
• Organising evaluation of Youth events as necessary

Marketing Officer:
• Designing and updating publicity using Canva software
• Liaising with the staff team to collate the necessary information required for publicity
• Co-ordinating the distribution of publicity via members and volunteers
• Planning marketing activity and timescales for print deadlines
• Scheduling termly marketing meetings and preparing the agenda
• Overseeing the updating and maintaining of the MfE website
• Ensuring all events are publicised on website/social media
• Managing online content including social media
• Contributing to the weekly e-newsletter (MfE Mondays)

Finance Officer:
• Carrying out day to day book-keeping and banking of cheques/cash
• Keeping all online finance records up to date through Quickbooks accounting software

Person Specification:


Essential
Understanding of the benefits of music making in a community setting
Experience of working in an organisation where music has been a key focus
Experience of co-ordinating projects, workshops or events (in the arts or voluntary sector)
Experience of contracting musicians or other artists
Strong organisational skills
Excellent administrative skills
Able to use IT / Word / Excel / Microsoft office tools (or willingness to be trained)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well as part of a team


Desirable
Ability to read music
Educated to Degree level or equivalent
Experience of working with charities or community groups in an arts capacity
