This year, the Youth Music Awards is calling on the new government, music educators and the music industry to step up and ‘Root for Grassroots’. This means investing funds to ensure a more diverse, inclusive and creative music ecosystem across the UK.

Our awards, which celebrates the most forward-thinking projects in music, will be judged by artists, journalists and representatives from the industry, including:

  • Eve – artist and TV Host, Youth Music Ambassador
  • BICEP – DJ duo and Youth Music Ambassadors
  • MNEK – artist, producer and songwriter, Youth Music Ambassador
  • Jess Iszatt – radio presenter and Youth Music Ambassador
  • Jordan Stephens – artist and author
  • Amelia Dimoldenberg – comedian, journalist and broadcaster
  • Gilles Peterson MBE – broadcaster and DJ
  • Jasmine Takhar – radio presenter

Each of the 11 awards will be sponsored by some of the UK’s most prolific music, fashion and culture brands, including Live Nation, Ticketmaster, LCCM, Levi’s, PRS for Music, Marshall Amplification, Rocksteady, The Musician’s Union (The MU), Songkick, Yoto, RSL Awards and Sony Music.

Now in our 25th year, we're celebrating the work we've done to equalise access to making, learning, and earning in music, whilst campaigning for a more diverse and more inclusive industry. This year’s awards reflect this by recognising the trailblazing entrepreneurs, grassroots projects and young leaders from across the scene.

Youth Music CEO, Matt Griffiths, says: “We’re proud to be marking our 25th anniversary at this year’s Youth Music Awards. Once again, we’ve been overwhelmed with nominations from people and projects representing the future of music.

“Our judging panel, featuring the very best of the music industry alongside some incredible brands and our longstanding headline partner, Hal Leonard Europe, have worked tirelessly to shortlist the impressive entries we have received. We can’t wait to reveal the shortlist!”

Comedian, Journalist & Broadcaster, Amelia Dimoldenberg, says: “I’m really excited to be invited back to judge the Youth Music Awards. It’s crucial that the creative industries spotlight a diverse range of talent and music projects from across the UK. I think having an awards such as this is a great way to provide that platform, and first step. I can’t wait to see what happens on the night!”

Rapper and Youth Music Ambassador, Eve, says: “It’s a real honour to be involved in the Youth Music Awards again, especially as a new ambassador. Both myself and the charity are celebrating 25 years in the game this year so it feels extra special. As a female rapper growing up Philadelphia, I know what it’s like to work harder than others to be recognised. That’s why I’m so passionate about spotlighting young people who have overcome adversity to chase their dreams. I can’t wait to meet all the nominees on the night.”

Head of Business Development at Hal Leonard Europe, Oliver Winstone, says: “Hal Leonard Europe eagerly anticipates the fifth Youth Music Awards. Proud of our enduring partnership, we look forward to joining the Youth Music team and industry colleagues in celebrating the exceptional talent, dedication, and musical achievements recognised at this annual event, which continues to push boundaries.”

Relationship Manager (Black Music) at PRS for Music, Kenny Barber, says: “We are delighted to continue our support of the Youth Music Awards. The awards provide a platform for young creatives and their voices to be heard while celebrating the trailblazing individuals who represent the future of our industry.”

Live Nation UK & Ireland COO, Stuart Douglas, says: “Live Nation is proud to sponsor the Youth Music Awards and support the NextGen Community, a unique initiative empowering young creatives to progress careers in music. We’re excited to be part of this vital work to nurture the next generation of music professionals, and in doing so, investing in the growth and diversity of the entire industry.”
