English Teacher
Project: Come Play With Me, Leeds
English Teacher’s surreal lyricism forms the backbone of their strain of alternative, which sees post-punk, psychedelic and art-rock influences collide. Having spent 2018-2019 supporting artists such as Boogarins, No Vacation and Yellow Days at some of the UK’s stalwart independent venues, and having recently worked in Normandy with James Sanger (Manic Street Preachers, The Cure, Brian Eno) and Ken Scott (The Beatles, David Bowie, Pink Floyd) the band’s releases have already seen praise from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and The Line of Best Fit. This year will also see English Teacher’s debut festival appearance as they join the Live At Leeds roster alongside Shame, Working Men’s Club, and Tim Burgess.
