Meet the NextGen

Updated:

We know how hard it can be to break into creative industries. Experience is crucial, but getting that experience in the first place is tough - especially when it's unpaid.

That's why we've launched the Youth Music NextGen - offering 18-25 year olds freelance work for Youth Music to help them take those first steps in their career.

We launched the NextGen programme at the Youth Music Awards 2019 in association with Hal Leonard Europe, where a group of young people worked the event as photographers, runners, social media pros, illustrators, hosts and more. Hear from them how it felt to be paid for their work in our blog, written by NextGen blogger Isobel.

Since then, we've hired young freelance advisors to help us make decisions around who we fund, a team to create a brand new, original podcast series, and much more. Take a look at out our opportunities board for the latest next gen roles, plus opportunities with other organisations.

Learn more about the young people we've worked with below.
